Daytona Beach, FL., – Sensatek Wins AFWERX Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer Award of $50,000 for on-blade propulsion health monitoring system. The on-blade sensors helps warfighters, like Program Executive Office C3I&N, understand vulnerabilities when deploying civilian rated aircraft in military operations. Sensatek helps aircraft maintainers identify, communicate, and adapt to premature blade failure early on, helping warfighters push the limits of combat effectiveness by achieving enhanced fleet readiness.

This Phase I award represents the first step of the three-phase program designed to identify and fund innovative, high potential early-stage companies. As part of this program, Sensatek is investigating novel applications of its technology, including reducing design time for new engine development, improved characterization of turbine blade environments in existing engines, and early detection of turbine blade flaws. These use cases have sparked the interest of Air Force customers such as the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), and the Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks Directorate (C3I&N) at Hanscom Airforce Base.
